Dr. Donald Washington is a
native of Columbus, Ohio.
He was educated in the Columbus Public School System. Following graduation
from
East
High School,
Reverend Washington entered into the Army and graduated with honors as
Trainee of The Cycle. After basic training, Reverend Washington entered into
N.C.O.A. (Non-Commissioned
Officers
Academy)
and graduated top 10 in his class and was promoted to Sergeant E-5. Reverend
Washington completed his Paratrooper training and
Ranger
School at
Fort Benning
Georgia. In
1968 Dr. Washington completed a tour of
duty in the
Republic
of Viet Nam
as a forward observer where he received the Bronze Star, Air Medal and
Purple Heart. In 1969 he served as Drill Sergeant until he was honorably
discharged in August 1970 from
Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Dr.
Donald J. Washington was employed by the American Hospital Supply
Corporation in 1971 as a Transportation Manager. He left his position in
1983 to go into the ministry full time. Reverend Washington received his
higher education from the Aenon
Bible
College
(Dp., Th.G) and Trinity Seminary (B.R.E) of Newburg Indiana.
Dr.
Washington
chaired the Building Committee which was responsible for the building of the
Church’s 1 million dollar facility which houses two Charter Schools. Dr.
Donald J. Washington is currently serving as Pastor of the
Mount Hermon
Missionary
Baptist
Church.
